Shooting in Lincoln County leaves three dead
LINCOLN COUNTY (KMOV) -- ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) - A shooting in Lincoln County, Missouri, has left three people dead Wednesday night, police said.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. in the 2500 block of State Highway W outside of Foley.
“We believe that the shooter was the husband,” said Sheriff Rick Harrell.
According to Harrell, when officers arrived, they found 38-year-old Lauren Foland and her father, 72-year-old Scott Causey, shot to death. Harrell said 56-year-old Phillip Foland had a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital, where he died.
He said the couple’s four children, who range in age from 1 to 15 years old, were in the home at the time and that it was one of the older children who called 911.
“It’s sad, and it’s shocking. They seemed like a normal family,” said neighbor Connie Simmons.
Harrell said there are no records of deputies being called to the home for domestic violence. Detectives will be working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.
