6 shot, 1 killed in St. Louis City late Tuesday night, early Wednesday morning

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) - Seven victims were shot and one was killed in five separate shootings that happened in St. Louis City late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

The first shooting happened on the south border of downtown St. Louis, near 14th and Chouteau, around 10540 p.m. Tuesday. A man was shot in the head and foot, and another man was shot in the foot. A car belonging to the man who was shot only in the foot was also hit by bullets. Two other cars also suffered ballistic damage. Both victims were taken to a hospital in stable condition

Around 11:50 p.m., a man was shot in the chest in the 5100 block of Dreseden, which is in the Bevo neighborhood of South City. Surveillance video showed someone in the passenger seat of a mid-2000s dark-colored Nissan firing shots at the victim before the car drove off. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Around 15 minutes later, a 28-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen near the intersection of 7th and Gratiot in downtown St. Louis. She was found inside a car. Officers say a witness told them they were driving west on Market when they heard shots and realized the victim had been hit. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Just before 12:30 a.m., a man and woman were shot on Chippewa near Gravois. The 36-year-old woman told News 4 that shots came from a car and motorcycle that drove by. The man, 37-year-old Wade Featherston, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital.

Just before 2:30 a.m., a 32-year-old woman suffered a wound to the forehead near the intersection of 8th and Market. Police say she was standing with friends watching a large group of teens shoot off fireworks. When officers started to clear the area, the group began to run. Multiple shots were then fired. The glass panels at the Bank of America sustained ballistic damage. The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
