Crews battle 3rd alarm house fire in Eureka

EUREKA, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Fire crews battled a third-alarm house fire Sunday in Eureka.

The fire broke out in the 100 block of Tall Oaks Drive before 4 p.m.

A spokesperson for the Eureka Fire Protection District said there were no injuries, but a few firefighters were checked out after tripping on ice. Those firefighters returned to fighting the fire.

Firefighters said a large response was needed because there were no fire hydrants in the area.

A dog was rescued from the scene and is now with the Humane Society.
