Woman, 81, dead following fire in Wood River, Ill.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Fire officials report a person was killed in a fire in Wood River Wednesday morning.

The fire was on State Street, near Chessen Avenue. Crews say the victim was the only person inside the home. She was later identified as 81-year-old Donna Nance.

An initial autopsy showed Nance suffered from smoke inhalation, authorities say.
