Man accused of killing his son, wounding another victim in Metro East shooting

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (First Alert 4) - A Metro East man is facing charges, accused of killing his son and wounding one other person in a shooting in East St. Louis.
Anthony Powe, 49, of Summerfield, Illinois, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.
The East St. Louis Police Department received a call for a shooting around 5 a.m. Friday for the area of 22nd Street and Market Street in East St. Louis. At the scene, police say they found a man who had been shot and killed, and another person who had been shot and injured.
The injured person was transported to an area hospital.
Police later identified the victim who died as Devonta McCray, 31, of Belleville. Powe is McCray’s father.
Powe is being held in the St. Clair County Jail.
