LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS/Gray News) - The body of a woman discovered earlier this week has been identified as a missing trainer who was last seen leaving Planet Fitness.

Lexington authorities say Elena Katherine Moore’s body was located near Old Cherokee Road and Northlake Drive on Wednesday.

Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said the clothing description of the missing 39-year-old matched that of what was found on the body, with Moore being positively identified by the coroner.

Lexington police said Moore was reported missing last Friday by her husband. One of the places she was last seen was at a Lexington-area Planet Fitness the day prior.

She was reportedly seen walking away from that Planet Fitness toward a wooded area behind Lowe’s Home Improvement. She was wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie with black athletic pants.

A photo appearing to show Moore at Planet Fitness was later released by police.

Lexington investigator Missy Silcox said on Monday that police did not suspect foul play in Moore’s disappearance. On Friday, authorities updated their investigation, saying an autopsy has been scheduled over the weekend following the discovery of the body.
