1 dead in 4-vehicle rollover crash on I-270 in Glen Carbon

GLEN CARBON, Ill. (First Alert 4) - One person died in a four-vehicle rollover crash along Interstate 270 in Glen Carbon on Thursday morning.

Illinois State Police told First Alert 4 that the crash occurred in the westbound lanes just east of Illinois Route 157 at 4:53 a.m.

Andrew Parcels, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Madison County Coroner’s Office. He was from Collinsville.

All westbound lanes of the interstate were blocked just before the Illinois Route 157 exit for over four hours. Crews on scene diverted westbound traffic onto Illinois Route 159.

ISP said there was no further information, and the cause of the crash is under investigation. The coroner’s office said the condition of other parties involved is unknown at this time.
